As before the software can't "see" the Blackmagic driver but it now seems to be at least usable without crashing all the time. Then I uninstalled MC entirely again (making sure all folders with any shared components have been fully trashed) and installed the same version of MC. I tried again, this time disconnecting the Blackmagic box from the computer entirely. After that, when I opened Avid Media Composer it had now detected the Blackmagic driver but as expected it crashed immediately with all the usual problems. So I did an experiment and uninstalled the Blackmagic Desktop Video sofwtare and reinstalled it again. Then I noticed that Avid hadn't recognised the Blackmagic Driver at all. I did some tests and had a go at chucking some clips into a timeline and I got a lot further then at any point i had recently - seemed to be working OK. Today I tried uninstalling Avid Media Composer 2023.3 and installing 2012.2.3. Even with the Blackmagic box completely disconnected from my machine, I would get the same crashes and spinning beachballs that I experienced with it attached. I don't know if you have already tried this or whether it will work differently with the AJA hardware but here goes (maybe it will help).
